A successful combination of
good performance, nice looks, and comfortable interior space has made the Bayliner Contessa somewhat of a
modern classic. This particular offering is powered by single 300 HP gas engine that provides plenty of power without cramping the
engine bay, and when compared to twin gas or diesel, the running is smooth and quiet, and relatively economical. Speaking of which
the engine on this boat was replaced with new in 1996 and the outdrive system was rebuilt in 1998.
A preview of this boat will
show a well cared for express cruiser offering sporty performance, a user friendly design, and a pleasing appearance.
The interior layout starting at the bow features the following:
- A large V-berth
- Next aft and to port is a nice main salon
dinette table and settee that will convert to a double berth.
- The starboard side of the salon features a
nicely built-in countertop galley with a two burner
alcohol/electric stove, and a stainless steel sink with hot and
cold water pressure. Also to starboard is a mounted TV and
stereo system.
- Aft of the galley area and to starboard is a
stand up head with shower.
- Aft the dinette is an enclosed quarter cabin
with a large queen size berth, hanging locker and standing
headroom for dressing.
- Further aft and two steps up is the cabin entry
/ companionway.
- At the cabin entry is a bridge deck (elevated a
step from the cockpit). At the starboard portion of the
bridge deck is a helm station that features good visibility for
and aft.
- The portside portion of the bridge deck is
given to a comfortable L-shaped settee.
- Aft to the bridge deck is the cockpit with a
large hatch for access to the engine bay and a transom combing
door to the boarding / swim platform mounted on the stern.
