REMARKS:
With significant influence by the
*Ted Geary design group, this
fantail luxury yacht was designed for the author Stewart Edward
White by the Lee and Brinton Naval Architect firm of San
Francisco and Seattle.
Built in 1930 by the Lake Washington Ship Yard in Houghton, WA
and equipped for long range extended cruising with a party of
eight aboard, the main deckhouse features separate cabin spaces
for the wheelhouse, dining salon, galley, and a cozy main salon
with wood burning fireplace. Covered port and starboard
promenade decks and an aft deck lounge at the fantail provide
excellent walk-about space and the ideal settings for alfresco
dining and evening cocktails. Below decks a full beam master
stateroom aft and three guest cabins forward provide comfortable
voyaging accommodations for eight. A full beam engine room
amidships with built-in cabinets, a work bench and elbow space
for onboard projects houses a huge and highly dependable 380 HP
Caterpillar D-353 TA 6-cylinder 4-cycle diesel engine, and
several Gensets. The upper deck presents a complete helm station
with a large observation / sunning settee with a Bimini top
forward of an extended boat deck area with an electric davit,
tender, and ample deck storage space.
A rare embodiment of yachtings original élan this classic
fantail defines the clear contrast between the contemporary
production yachts and those built in an era when American
craftsman fashioned select timbers into yachts custom designed
to serve an owner's family from generation to generation. Proven
on numerous voyages from the U.S. to Hawaii, the South Pacific,
the Caribbean and a number of Atlantic crossings, the yacht is
currently in periodic use for charters from Seattle to Alaska.
After a 25+ year relationship with this grand yacht the owner’s
semi-retirement has added significant motivation to his decision
to sell. Yachts of this origin are rarely available, we invite you aboard for
an opportunity to become the
next owner of this classic time-traveler.
Seller will consider a smaller three-stateroom classic/salty
steel or fiberglass trawler yacht in a partial trade. The
yacht’s charter business is also available for sale with the
yacht; however it is not included in the listing price of the
vessel.
