This is a three
stateroom cockpit motor yacht with separate crews quarters for
three. Elegant accommodations throughout include a raised
pilothouse equipped with a complete wish list of navtronics.
Wing stations, stabilizers, and bow thruster insure safe
maneuvering in close quarters and comfortable rides in the open
sea. A chef's galley and a Sportfishers cockpit blend fishing,
entertaining, and cruising into a delight for all aboard.
In short, this versatile yacht is worthy of the asking price,
and there is no waiting list. Her turn-key condition assures the
buyer that as soon as closing papers are signed the next voyage
may begin. In Tacoma, Nordlund Boat Co. Inc.
has compiled a 3 1/2-year backlog for custom-built yachts from
63 feet to 106 feet, after it stopped building fishing boats
in the early 1980s, said president Paul Nordlund. Many
of the yachts his company builds include a full array of
electronic equipment, and most of the buyers are
entrepreneurs, who have created their own wealth. "I think the
biggest change is it's not just a recreational vehicle
anymore," he said. "They (owners) take them to different
marinas or resorts, and use them as a second home, and also
use them as a business place."
"Washington is increasingly seen as one of the top places
in the nation to seek such a vessel"... said Diane Byrne,
senior editor of Power and Motoryacht Magazine in
Manhattan. "The reputation has spread that Washington
State builders build terrific boats, so people are starting to
look at them more carefully now...," she said. ..."They're
known for quality construction, especially the yards that have
started out from the commercial fishing industry such as
Nordlund." |
