ACCOMMODATIONS AND
LAYOUT:
|
Commentary:
Trawler style cruiser with
rakish reverse-slanted windshield combines comfortable
accommodations with a good turn of speed. Cherry interior
with white headliners and large main salon windows are
nicely accented by teak and holly flooring throughout.
The spacious galley-up interior layout features a second
sleeping cabin that is offset below
the salon floor. The Upper and lower helm stations allow
great visibility from either helm and feature duplicate engine controls
and navigation instrumentation, fixed settees with
upholstered cushions at the cockpit and flying bridge provide a
variety of exterior seating options, and an aft cockpit
with hardtop allows ready access to the engine compartment
below. The cockpit also gives easy access to the wide walk-around
side decks, a wide fold-away stairway
style ladder to the flying bridge, and the walkthrough transom to
a large swim deck / water-sports
platform. Below the waterline a modified V-hull extends to
the aft end of the swim platform for enhanced performance and a full length keel
provides good directional stability and protection for the
bottom, propeller, and rudder. Nicely outfitted and maintained
by a knowledgeable owner for extended coastal cruising.
Walkthrough:
At the bow a forward cabin features a
center-line queen berth, aft to port is an amidships cabin,
to starboard is an enclosed head compartment with stall shower.
Aft and up
three steps to port is the salon featuring a U-Shaped settee
with
dinette that converts to an 8' long spare-berth. Entertainment
center, chart table, electrical panel, battery switches, tank
monitors. To starboard is an in-line galley and the lower helm
station. The salon opens to a covered aft deck / cockpit with built in seating
and cockpit table. Further aft a walkthrough transom
accesses a unique swim / water-sports platform with shower. The hull
is dark blue, topsides and decking are oyster white (decks have molded in non-skid).
-
Forward Cabin: Features an island queen berth,
shelving port and starboard, two opening ports, large
opening screened hatch, 12v lighting, large hanging locker,
steps port and starboard for easy access to berth, drawers
and hinged privacy door. Reading lamps.
-
Mid-Ship Cabin: Separate mid-ship cabin
features a queen berth, four opening ports plus one large
opening port, stainless steel hand rail, locker, drawers,
shelving, 12v lighting, 110 volt lighting and privacy door.
-
Head: The enclosed head compartment
located starboard features a SeaLand Vacuflush toilet,
stainless steel sink, large mirrored bulkhead, storage
locker and shelving, two opening ports, separate shower
stall with seat and storage. Holding tank evacuation via
deck fixture or macerator overboard in offshore waters.
-
Salon: Up three steps (storage
underneath) to the light and airy salon. Featuring a large
U-Shaped settee with drop down dinette table that converts
to an 8' long berth on the Port Side facing the galley.
Chart table forward. Storage drawers, shelving, large
windows with blinds. Electrical panel, battery switches, A/C
and Gen-set panels.
-
Galley: In the main salon
an in-line (up) galley extends along the starboard side of the
cabin from the aft end to the lower helm station.
The galley area has ample storage and practical work space with built-in
appliances nested within an attractive array of teak
cabinetry and Corian counter tops. A large opening window
with screen above the double stainless steel sinks adds natural
light, ventilation, and a view to the efficient and nicely
finished galley space.
-
Lower Helm: The lower helm station
is located on starboard side of the salon forward of the galley.
This area features an adjustable footrest, removable helm seat (seat removed), a large
opening window with screen, complete engine controls and instrumentation,
electronics distribution/circuit breaker
panel, VHF, and displays for the navigation electronics
(duplicated by those at the upper helm station).
-
Upper Helm/Flying bridge:
A fully functional upper helm station is located at the forward
end of the flying bridge
/ boat deck. This area is accessed by a stairway (not a ladder) from the port side
of the cockpit, opposite the aft boarding / transom door (to the
fully protected swim step). The upper helm station features
an adjustable helmsman's chair on centerline
with two forward facing settees to port and starboard
of the helm and additional settee seating for another 5
adults. This area also has a small refrigerator w/ice maker, a
search light (with controls at both helm stations), and a bimini
top with transparent isinglass side curtains (with removable textraline sun screens).
There is ample storage under the removable cushioned seats.
Aft of the seating area (above the cockpit) is a "boat deck"
that is fitted to stow and launch the boat's tender, (10' Avon
RIB with a 2 HP Mercury O/B). Positioned at the forward end of
the boat deck is a substantial antenna mast with a cargo lifting
boom that is fitted with an electric winch for launching and
retrieving the tender. When encountering a bridge with low
clearance, or if antenna connections require inspection, a hinge
at the base of the mast allows it to be lowered and raised while
underway.
-
Engine Compartment: Large hatch in
the
cockpit sole allows access to the engine compartment beneath
the cockpit. Although Albin offered this model in a twin diesel
configuration, the single 420 hp Caterpillar 3126 - diesel.
( w/286.6 hrs. use) provides ample power and presents several
(obvious) advantages over the twin engine configuration (not the
least of which is a better distribution of weight, economy of
operation and maint., and more open space in the compartment for
storage and ease of access).
Summary: Keystone has it all. The
beautiful blue hull is just the wrapping on the package.
Lightly used, well maintained. Perfect for the cruising
couple who want style, comfort, and all the gizmo's and
gadgets to enhance the entire boating experience.

LISTING AGENT REMARKS:
|
Noted as Albin Marine's return to the Trawler
market, the 36' Express Trawler went into production in 1999 and
ended in 2005 (construction costs exceeded market support).
Recognizing that the mid-sized trawlers the ’70s and ’80s were
not meeting contemporary requirements, Albin Marine endeavored
to match the best features of past designs with improved
materials and technology to create a fast trawler style yacht
that would meet contemporary expectations. Standard
features such as fixed
cockpit and flybridge seating, rakish (and seaworthy)
reverse-slanted windshield, and a modified V-Hull with a full
length keel offering prop protection and a good turn of speed
are a few examples. Having an emphasis
on quality construction and outdoor living, the generously sized
covered cockpit of the Albin 36 ET is nicely integrated with
built-in seating and a walk-through transom to an oversized
boarding and water-sports platform. Additionally, structural
components to make the design ruggedly safe and very user
friendly, such as wide side decks, high coamings, and an easily
accessed flying bridge (with fixed seating for seven), also
allows ample space for family fun. With the versatility of upper
and lower helm stations the skipper can participate in onboard
activities and safely pilot the boat in all weather conditions.
A three-cabin interior layout with American Cherry wood
cabinetry and Corian-type countertops throughout is designed to
provide sleeping accommodations for four people in the privacy
of two separate cabins – with additional room for a fifth person
in the salon. And a fully equipped salon-galley (galley-up),
which
includes a three-burner stove with broiler and oven, microwave,
refrigerator, double sink and coffee maker.
Built in 2003, this particular Albin 36 is
also equipped with the options offered by the builder when new, a partial list
includes duplicate upper and lower helm stations with complete
controls for engine, bow thruster, trim tabs, search light, and
auto pilot, plus dual displays for navigation electronics
(radar, GPS/Plotter, depth/fish finder), and VHF radios.
Also included are dual 16k air
conditioning units, dual shore power connections (1 is dedicated
for the ac units), Vacuflush toilet, and an Onan 6.5 kW genset
(w/only 219 hrs. use). In 2009 further significant
upgrades were installed, to name a few they include a hinged
antenna mast with cargo boom and electric lift winch, a Flat-screen
Sony TV, a Charles Industries three stage battery charger, and a
Wireless Yacht Controller - remote control operation for the
Engine (including forward & reverse) and the Bow Thruster
(left/right).
If you are in the market for a
competitively priced express Trawler that has had light use
(only 288 hrs. engine use) and is in great condition, and very
well equipped the Keystone has it all. The beautiful flag blue
hull is just the wrapping on the package. This mid-sized cruiser
is a perfect for solution for the couple who want the option of
getting away on their own, or of bringing family or friends
along to safely enjoy favorite waterways in style and comfort.
