The Union Polaris 36 is a full keel cutter rigged cruising
sloop having canoe stern and spoon bow with bow sprit. An
elliptical shaped self bailing cockpit with bridge deck
separating the foot well from cabin companionway and teak
surround combing and backrest fascias are a few of the
features that make for a very attractive and sea worthy
passage maker. Typical of Bob Perry designs the Union
Polaris has a pleasing performance under sail.
The interior is well crafted with varnished teak moldings,
trim, bulkheads, doors, drawers, and other varnished
appointments. To port of the companionway is a U-shaped
galley, to starboard a sit-down navigation station with
pilot / quarter berth. Forward of the galley is a large
U-shaped settee with dinette table to port and a bench
settee to starboard that converts to a double berth.
Forward of the salon is an enclosed head with a stall
shower. Further forward is an enclosed cabin with double
wide berth.
Throughout are numerous drawers, shelves and lockers that
provide commodious storage spaces. White headliners, Teak
and Holley soles, opening portlights, overhead hatches,
well positioned light fixtures, louvered cabinet doors,
fiddled countertops, and many additional features make the
well thought out interior accommodations practical and
warmly attractive.

REMARKS:
The Union Polaris 36 cutter
is a well proven and attractive Robert Perry designed
coastal cruiser.
Although this particular Union Polaris is perhaps the
newest on the brokerage market, due to a disabling
accident the owner has been unable to maintain the boat
for the past several years and the exterior shows quite
poorly. The boat is to now be sold as is, and a steeply
discounted asking price is in place to compensate for the
exterior appearance. Not withstanding an obvious need for
cockpit restoration and refinishing the teak cap rails,
decking and hatches, the interior of this yacht shows to
be in remarkably good condition. The on-board equipment
inventory is also very suitable and the 48 HP Perkins
Diesel has had only 150 hours use (approx.).
As such, (and subject to a thorough buyer's inspection),
we believe this particular Union Polaris offers a very
real opportunity for a buyer to acquire significant
handy-work equity as well as the enjoyment of completed
labor when sailing this comfortable cruising yacht.
