ACCOMMODATIONS AND LAYOUT:
Nicely maintained and
upgraded by the current owner, this Hunter Legend is
designed to be a comfortable and easily sailed (and
maintained) coastal cruiser with a hull shape and rig that
provides competitive sailing performance. The yacht has
sleeping accommodations for up to (7),: (4) in two
separate cabins with ensuite heads, and (3) in the main
salon on two convertible settees.
- The nearly flush deck
profile with
inboard chain plates allows for good sail trim, easy access to foredeck spaces, and
a quick clean up when back at the dock. The foredeck is equipped with a bow mounted anchoring system with
stem roller and deck hatches to an anchor rode well
with windlass. This compartment drains to allow simple hose
down after anchoring and keeps the windlass away
from snagging stray lines, sheets, and toes. Also at the bow
is a recessed roller furling system for the headsail that
allows simple sail handling and keeps the sail foot low to the deck for
maximum performance. A polished stainless steel bow pulpit
is
fitted with a small lookout seat convenient for sail changes, navigating
optimum position on tight race course starting lines and
buoy turns, or to just enjoy the exhilaration of a
comfortable spot on the bow as the yacht charges through bright
summer seas. Further aft on
the foredeck are multiple deck hatches fitted with blue
canvass covers to match those for the mainsail, dodger,
deckhouse windows, the helm station, winch covers and the cockpit bimini.
- The cockpit
features port, starboard, and aft lazarette seating, a
polished stainless steel rail system that wraps around the
stern. This rail is fitted with port and starboard
observation seats and transom gate with fold up ladder for
boarding from a tender or from a refreshing swim. Near the
aft end of the cockpit is a complete pedestal helm station
with engine controls, polished stainless steel wheel, and an
array of navigation instrumentation mounted in fiberglass pod
displays. Additionally the pedestal supports a holder for
multiple beverages (very convenient when tacking). The
forward end of the cockpit has a recessed companionway
access the main cabin
protected by a canvass dodger with isinglass windows and
polished stainless steel fold-away frame. At either
side of the companionway are halyard guides with with
stopper cams and winches.
- Entering the
main cabin at the cockpit companionway are steps over an
enclosed engine compartment. Immediately to starboard is
an enclosed head with access from the salon and the aft
sleeping cabin. This head is positioned just aft of a sit-down
navigation station with forward facing chart table, circuit breaker electrical panel and
navigation electronics. To starboard of the companionway
is an L-shaped galley with s full array of appliances, Corian
countertops and ample over and under counter storage.
Aft of the galley is an entry to an
athwartships under-cockpit cabin with a queen-sized berth with
custom reflex foam mattress, storage locker and drawers,
and a separate access to the aft head.
Forward of the galley is a U-shaped upholstered dinette settee
with a high-low dinette table that will convert to a double
sized berth. Opposite, to port is a
straight upholstered settee that will convert to a single
berth. Both settees were fitted in 2004 with new
custom foam padding and upholstery. Outboard of the settees are
built-in shelving with side windows over. At the forward
end of the salon is a full bulkhead with doorway to a
Vee-berth cabin with ensuite head and overhead hatch, note
that both heads are fitted with Corian countertops and
under-mounted porcelain sinks.
- Throughout, the interior
shows the upscale finish of varnished
teak on bulkheads, lockers, cabinetry, settees, and dinette table.
Cabin soles show traditional teak
and holly, the fabric overhead are inset with ventilation hatches
fitted with screens and Oceanair Skyshades (in the main
salon). Laid out for practical use underway and
comfortable lounging at anchor or dockside, the interior
offers well lit and ventilated spaces, the privacy of
three separate cabins, and an overall appearance that is
nicely upscale.
|
- Two sleeping cabins each
with double berths, custom sheets, overhead hatches with
canvas covers and screens, ample storage and ensuite heads
with hand held showers.
- Sit-down navigation
station with forward facing chart table and full array of
electronics.
- Two upholstered settees
with custom foam and upholstery in main salon (new 2004).
- High-low teak dinette
table that converts to a double berth.
|
- Custom Reflex Foam
mattress in aft cabin (new 2004).
- L-shaped galley with Corian counter tops and ample
storage space above and below.
- Two heads, each with
ample storage, ventilation hatches with canvass covers,
under-mount porcelain sink, vanity, Corian countertops, and handheld shower with floor drains and
shower sump pump.
