REMARKS:

Tayana Yachts is well known for building some of the best sailing yachts to come from the Far East.  The 55' cutter is the Flagship of their fleet and is considered among of the best in her class.

This particular Tayana 55 has a three stateroom floor plan with a full beam master cabin aft, a stand up engine room, full beam salon, passageway galley, twin staterooms forward, and a walk-in sail locker.  The interior is very tastefully done.

Custom built to the original owner's demanding specifications, this may be the best Tayana 55 ever built.  To oversee the construction from day-1 the original owner  took up a residence near the factory.  This was his fifth boat, he wanted it built  for a circumnavigation, and he left no detail ignored.  A Maritime lawyer by trade,  he also made sure the boat would exceed the highest Lloyds of London specifications.

Laminated by hand, only Isophthalic resin was used and the deck and hull lamination schedules were done with solid fiberglass (no core materials to age and soften from possible water intrusion).  Wherever the factory had been using iron in areas such as the inner support grids for the keel and rudder, or the 'shoes' at the bottom leading edge of rudder and keel, stainless steel was specified.

From the custom Forespar self-furling mast with Navtec rigging to the dovetail  & tongue and groove joinery for the Teak interior, every aspect of the original construction and rigging specifications that could be improved upon were taken to the highest standards. The result is a beautifully designed and constructed yacht that has been successfully cruised, professionally maintained, and has stood up to the test of time and sea without fault.

If you are looking for a tastefully appointed yacht that is capable of short handed world cruising with safety, performance and comfort, and if you would rather not spend a million or more to do so, then this is a yacht that requires your serious consideration.
